Food Safety & Quality Assurance

At ARAMARK, food safety has always been an absolute priority as we work to deliver great experiences for our customers.

We have rigorous quality assurance and food safety processes, and we are committed to continuously enhancing them.

As the company’s stewards of food safety, our employees:

  • Receive food safety training.
  • Review proper food preparation and safety procedures during regular meetings that occur before each event.
  • Prepare food according to recipes and production processes that specify safe preparation, handling and service.
  • Are trained to actively promote and maintain food safety. They are also urged to raise any concerns with their supervisors or anonymously by telephone hotline through which all issues are rapidly addressed by senior management.

Our managers:

  • Purchase food through ARAMARK’s “Farm to Dock” program, which specifies the purchase of food and ingredients from reputable companies that commit to regular independent audits of their safety practices and operations.
  • Receive ServSafe training and certification in the safe handling and serving of food. ServSafe, a program developed by the National Restaurant Association’s Educational Foundation, is one of the most detailed food safety training programs available to our industry. It is recognized by more federal, state and local jurisdictions than any other food safety certification.
  • Use quality control processes that govern food safety practices.
  • Monitor their locations’ temperature logs, sanitation schedules and employee hygiene standards during each service.
  • Conduct frequent inspections of the sites they manage, and immediately develop plans to correct any issues.
  • Ensure their locations comply with all federal, state and local health codes.
  • Participate in health inspections – some of which occur as often as quarterly and immediately work to correct any issues.
  • Rapidly respond to any concerns about food safety from our employees, clients, customers or the communities we serve.

Our senior leadership teams:

  • Collaborate with independent, third-party food safety specialists and inspectors to review and enhance our operations.
  • Promote ongoing education, training, coaching and enhancement in the interest of operational excellence, food safety and sanitation.
  • Charged ARAMARK’s food safety task force with responsibility for food safety operating policies and best practices across the company.
